Professional Architectural Woodworking
Shop Drawings In 7 Steps
Step 1
All shop drawings require a short start up meeting in person or over the phone to
discuss the project in further detail. An outline is established
regarding the scope of work, the amount of detail required, customer
construction methods and the date required. Arrangements are
then made to obtain a copy of all information required to complete the
shop drawings (architectural drawings, Pdf files, faxes, hand drawn
sketches etc.).
Step 2
A review of the project information is performed by ourselves, a payment type is
agreed upon with the customer regarding the choice between an hourly
charge out rate or a fixed up front estimated cost.
Step 3
Once we have a verbal agreement in place the drawing process begins and continues for a period of hours or days depending
on the size and complexity of the project. Communication is necessary
during this process to ensure our customer's satisfaction of the final
product. Questions may arise during the drawing process and brief,
occasional communication between ourselves and the customer may occur.
Step 4
Prior to completing the shop drawings, typically at the 75%
completion stage, the drawings are delivered to the customer by fax
or Pdf file format for
review, comments and input. This is required to ensure the
customer's satisfaction of the final product.
Step 5
Comments and suggestions
are incorporated into the shop drawings where upon the final 25% of the
drawings are completed and delivered to the customer for a final review.
Step 6
Based on the customer's
acceptance of the shop drawings during the review, changes are then
added if required. These drawings are
then couriered to our customers location.
We also offer the option to receive your shop drawings in a Pdf file
format via email, in which you the customer can print the shop drawings
from your own computer using Adobe Reader version 7 or higher.
Step 7
Upon our customer's 100%
satisfaction, all documents are then returned,
if required and an invoice is then
delivered by mail or Pdf file format via email for full payment.
No payment is required prior to, or during the drawing process, but a
full payment is expected within 30 days from invoice date.
